British officials explained that they were prepared to accept Iran's agreement as permanent thereafter, and were deeply impressed by the fact that there were no sunset clauses where sanctions would be lifted after a certain point, unlike the 2015 nuclear deal. Iran also agreed to convert 440kg of highly enriched uranium stockpiled in Iran under IAEA supervision into low-enriched uranium, and promised not to stockpile highly enriched uranium in the future. In the final round of talks, Iran agreed to suspend domestic uranium enrichment for 3 to 5 years, but the US demanded a 10-year suspension after consulting with President Trump in the afternoon session. In fact, Iran lost the means to enrich nuclear fuel domestically due to the 2025 bombing of enrichment facilities. Iran also made a proposal that mediators described as an economic jackpot, which included the US being given the opportunity to participate in Iran's future civilian nuclear program. In return, nearly 80% of economic sanctions against Iran were to be lifted, which also included the unfreezing of assets in Qatar that Iran had demanded in the 2025 talks.

Iran's negotiation proposal right before the war started on Feb 26:

Converting highly enriched uranium to low-enriched uranium under IAEA supervision and permanently halting high-enriched uranium stockpiling

So basically Iran said they'd stop nukes and then someone literally beat the shit out of them for it. What kind of insane move is this? Actually shutting down nuclear programs and getting smacked for it?

What the hell was even the point of this war?

If Iran hadn't agreed to stop, they would've gotten hit anyway. The US is basically Israel's puppet.

fr fr, so we should keep an eye on what's next and start preparing investments ahead of time

🐰

Israel was worried that without nuclear development, Iran's Shia proxies would bully them, so Netanyahu pressured Trump into starting this war.

🐰

as someone from the Middle East this is just depressing because it's nothing we didn't already know 💔

🐰

Netanyahu obviously egged them on.

🐰

Americans really out here rewriting their own history like we all didn't live through it on the news

🐿️

Netanyahu pushed for it, said if Khamenei dies things would change...

🐰

Netanyahu egged them on to start the war—what other explanation is there? After two previous military ops went well, they probably thought this would be quick and easy too. But turns out Iran was one step ahead and only Trump was the dumbass...

🐺

lol finally someone said it out loud, been thinking this for years honestly
