1. What we collect

When you create an account:

• Email address
• Password (hashed — we never see the plaintext)
• Nickname (auto-generated, changeable)
• Optional: birthdate, avatar

When you use floo:

• Posts, comments, and votes you submit
• Content you save or like
• Standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) — used for security and abuse prevention

2. How we use it

• To provide and operate the floo platform
• To personalize your experience (e.g. level system, saved posts)
• To send account-related emails (email confirmation, password reset)
• To enforce our community rules and prevent abuse
• To improve the platform over time

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Third-party services

We use trusted third-party services for hosting, authentication, storage, and AI-powered features. These services process data only as necessary to operate floo and are subject to their own privacy policies. If you sign in with Google, Google may share your name and email with us.

Some content on floo — including posts, comments, and images — is processed by third-party AI APIs to provide translation and transcription features. This means text and image data may be transmitted to external AI service providers. We do not send personal account information (email, password) to these services.

4. Cookies

floo uses cookies strictly for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

5. Public content

Your posts and comments are public by default. Anyone — including search engines — can see them. You can set your profile to private in your profile settings, which hides your activity from other users.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Content you posted (posts, comments) may remain visible unless you delete it before closing your account.

Server logs (IP addresses, request logs) are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes, then deleted.

7. Your rights

• You can edit or delete your posts and comments at any time
• You can delete your account from your profile settings
• You can request a copy of your data by emailing us

When you delete your account, your profile and associated data are removed. Some aggregated or anonymized data may be retained for platform integrity purposes.

8. Children

floo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes. Continuing to use floo after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
