Why Gym Rat Seniors Got Dragged to Disciplinary Hearing

FT = ForbiddenTome — tap to see Korean slang explained

Our platoon was truly a model of an advanced barracks with no absurdities and no insubordination, right? But then suddenly when they opened a disciplinary committee, the platoon got noisy
Turns out after work when they got their phones back, a few gym bros illegally used the NCO gym room. From what I heard, the soldier gym room is so fucking small that only a few people share benches and there are frequent fights over spots, but the NCO gym room has way better equipment and barely anyone uses it so it felt like such a waste. We thought we wouldn't get caught since no one uses it lmao. The NCOs had ambiguous reactions though. Since their intentions weren't that bad and it was hard to find a regulation to punish them with, they just gave them a warning and moved on.
The battalion commander (soldier/3rd class background) expanded the gym room after this incident, doubled its size, brought in a lot of equipment, so only the junior gym bros benefited - happy ending

The soldiers were voluntarily working out and improving their fitness—how are they getting disciplined for that
Voluntary and independent combat strength improvement lmao
Plus if this goes public, it'll inevitably lead to 'the officers are completely out of shape'... so yeah lol
When soldiers are putting in that much work and you hear 'what are you guys doing,' the officers look totally pathetic lmao
Yeah that's why if you report it, the response you'd get would make it better to just let it slide with some criticism
Military stories rarely have happy endings like this
okay but we need the full story because 'disciplinary hearing' makes it sound serious... what happened??
Our unit has a legend about this...
My unit also had an amazing officer gym setup apparently, but I never got to see it
The military fitness center (golf course) should use those welfare funds to build a swimming pool, gym, crossfit facility and some decent facilities...
Nah we're spending it on crappy medals~
I heard at my unit a gym enthusiast with money kept buying more equipment lol
If you try to make a big deal out of it [soldiers voluntarily work out hard but officers don't do fitness training so the officer gym sits empty] that's all that gets left and reported upstairs lol
If they get disciplined it'll be archived across the whole country and everyone confirms they're idiots lmao
???: I gave them these facilities
It's awkward to punish soldiers for voluntarily training and improving combat strength—honestly the officers who failed to create a proper fitness environment for the soldiers are the only ones who'll take heat
Honestly if they were just vibing at the gym why would anyone snitch on them lol
Check out how the battalion commander was so proud he expanded the gym lol
Nice
If just one person had been in the gym after work, they wouldn't have even thought to do this—it must've been completely empty lmao
Seriously even if one officer had shown up, they would've been self-conscious and not gone, but it was apparently constantly empty
That commander genuinely got moved seeing the soldiers motivated and upgraded the equipment lol
Our new company commander came in with a 'let's work hard together' vibe and just dramatically increased the equipment
I was in an independent company and suddenly a weightlifting craze hit so like 2/3 of guys were lifting, special forces soldiers kept getting selected, and the supply officer got so hyped he kept buying more gear lol
LMAO not the gym rats getting in trouble 😭 what did they even do, deadlift in the wrong place??
This is actually wild, seniors are out here more dedicated than people half their age. Respect the grind 💪
This is lowkey inspiring ngl, 70-year-olds built different 🔥
gyms really said 'no fun allowed' apparently... let the old heads have their moment!!!
