Don't know where you're living but I'm curious—did you actually have to fight with city hall or your landlord over installing an AC unit?

Well... there's nowhere to put the outdoor unit, and the building doesn't have openings made for AC... drilling holes would be major construction so you'd need coordination beforehand. In my case, my lease actually prohibits any external modifications to the building. So even though it's kind of necessary... hospitals and restaurants usually use portable AC units. Those things that look like air purifiers

Well... the window structure is integrated with the wall so you can't remove it. I think it's what you'd call a system window in Korea? The kind with the tilting function anyway. I do use a window-type AC but there are SO many conditions to consider. If it needs a professional installer... probably won't be possible until next spring lol
