This guy shouldn't drink lmao treating it like a medical bill
Well getting a massive taxi fare is better than getting injured somewhere random while drunk
One's literally a matter of life and death, the other's just your wallet dying γ γ γ γ γ γ γ γ γ
Even if you try to U-turn it doesn't matter x2 γ γ γ γ γ
If you negotiate well you might could get it cheaper
Our team lead did a work dinner in Seoul then passed out in a taxi asking to go to Daegu on instinct. Woke up mid-ride and realized he had a meeting in Seoul that morning, so made the driver turn around and go back to Seoul... taxi fare was like 500K... just 3 months ago...
When a blackout drunk suddenly asks you to go somewhere that far, you must be confused but I guess the driver just agreed and took off γ γ
Apparently it's one of taxi drivers' dreams. One is 'follow that car please' and the other is 'if you're heading to Busan go to Seoul instead, if you're heading to Seoul go to Busan instead'
How do tolls work in this situation
Whatever the passenger pays is the fare to the destination, the driver covers tolls for the return trip
It's included in the surcharge for long-distance rides
That 'Busan, let's goooo' nonsense γ γ γ γ γ
Busan, yeah~~ βοΈ
Almost there lmaooo γ γ γ γ
Do they even stop for gas in the middle
γ γ γ γ The driver's like thank you γ γ γ
Should've asked him to drop you at Dong-Daegu Station instead
okay but how does that even happen?? uber surge pricing has entered the chat
In cases like this, is doing one long haul actually better for the driver?
One run then rest for a day lol γ γ
If they pick up a return passenger to Seoul it's basically jackpot
Definitely a win
Even accounting for gas costs and rest time on the way back, I'm not sure if it's actually profitable
Here's the move: rest until evening, then gather up people who missed the last bus at the terminal and split the fare with them. Then it's basically just a taxi situation γ γ γ I did that once when I had to rush from Daegu to Gwangju
Yeah, driving around empty is the biggest loss. But this way you're making money the whole time
It's basically a day's income in one run lmao why wouldn't you do it γ γ
The real benefit is during all that time you don't have to go hunting for new passengers separately, you just cruise the highway straight there which is way easier
(Heard directly from a driver) Apparently there's some taxi regulation thing where you can't pick up passengers outside your registered business area. Like if you pick up someone going from Busan to Yangsan, and then try to pick up another passenger in Yangsan, the local drivers will have their eyes peeled and try to report you saying 'hey why is this Busan taxi picking up passengers here.' They'll jump on you hard.
You're allowed to return to your own area. In Busan you can go to Yangsan but obviously can't pick up passengers within Yangsan, and you can't take people to Kimhae or Changwon, but you CAN take someone going back to Busan. Thing is, you usually don't know where this guy's actually gonna ask to go so it's just faster to make a beeline back anyway lol
If they say 'I missed my mom' you'd be happy to just rest there for a day γ γ
Guess they really wanted to see the ocean
WAIT WHAT?? 280K for a taxi ride?? π that better be a ride to the moon or something
this has to be a glitch in the app right? no way someone actually paid that lmaooo
Bro probably got kidnapped and the driver took him on a world tour π
