Back then one dad's salary could support a whole household. Now it's impossible—they need dual income. The thing is when women entered the workforce, labor supply went up so wage pressure decreased. Now the whole wage structure is built so you need both incomes to survive. Even communism preached women's equality and social participation for 'women's rights' but real talk they just needed the labor force lol
