I got a few million won accidentally transferred to my KakaoBank account once too. At first when they called, I thought it was some card promotion pitch so I didn't answer, but then I got a text. The refund process was easier than I thought honestly. KakaoBank just sent a refund message on the app and I just followed what it said and boom, refund went through. But like, shouldn't they throw us at least 0.5% for the trouble? These little windfalls are what make life worth living lol.
Reminds me of that movie "Run with the Money" γ γ γ dude was just flexing and spending like crazy
Meanwhile someone out there is probably having millions flowing in and out of their account right now? γ γ γ Different breed of person
So I just don't have to do anything except agree to the mistaken deposit refund request?
Wait so they just got 200 million won randomly and their FIRST problem was their study session getting ruined? π That's the most civil service exam student thing I've ever heard
Wait, doesn't this need police involvement??? What if it's fraud from a third party?
Yeah that's why you do it the legal way and just keep the money safe in the meantime γ γ if you do what the other side asks like that, you could accidentally end up money laundering like a dumbass without even knowing
It's not a crime so police don't need to get involved. When you request a mistaken deposit refund from the bank, the bank acts as middlemanβthey connect both sides or send the money themselves (needs the recipient's consent), or the person who got the money can just send it back directly
Gotta go through the bank for this
Just don't give it back lol
Wow they're money laundering these days huh γ γ γ
lmao this is crazy
The way this person's priorities are so twisted is kind of inspiring ngl, most people would've already spent it but nope just vibing with existential dread
How do you even mess up 30 and accidentally send 200 million instead of 3 million γ γ γ γ that manager probably had a heart attack γ γ γ γ γ γ γ
What if you throw it into Toss, collect a day's interest, and return it tomorrow? That wouldn't work?
γ γ glad it ended well but the company account is gonna have the mistaken deposit-recovery record forever, so that manager probably went through some serious cussing instead of a nice lunch that day
I used to work somewhere... this happened at Industrial Bank where a staff member accidentally deposited 100 million won. The employee said they messed up the transfer. The boss literally pulled it out and spent it immediately. 100 million, and when the branch manager showed up, the boss was like "oh I thought that was money coming in to me" and just handled it casually. In the end, the branch manager authorized an additional 100 million loan to cover it. Normally to get a 100 million loan you gotta bow and scrape for ages, but here the bank was basically begging him to take it. After dragging it out for days, once he took the loan and settled everything, I was like... so THIS is what it takes to be a boss?
He took out a loan to cover it so he's a boss. But if he just spent it and called it a day? That's a straight-up scammer.
This is honestly peak stress culture, like bestie you have 200 MILLION WON just sitting there and you're worried about flashcards lmaooo
I would've immediately called the bank but also like... imagine the anxiety of having that much money you didn't earn just chilling in your account, that's actually nightmare fuel
