A 20-something part-time worker reported: "While working at a convenience store," a young-looking male customer purchased 5 bottles of soju and 2 cans of beer. When asked for ID, the male confidently handed it over. The worker was shocked upon seeing itβit was their own ID with their own photo. The male had stolen the ID to buy alcohol, but the counter worker checking it turned out to be the actual ID owner. When confronted about the ID theft, the male tried to claim it was a friend's ID and that they must have gotten mixed up, then immediately fled. It was later revealed the male was a minor who had found the ID 6 months ago and had been using it for alcohol and shopping. The worker said: "There are quite a few cases where the ID photo doesn't match the actual face, but because it was my face, I was able to catch him. That guy was just unlucky." Happened to me too lmao. My middle school friend who worked at a convenience store bought cigarettes with my ID without me knowing. He hadn't seen me in like 5 years so he wasn't totally sure, but he gave it anyway lol. But I got my wallet stolen around the same time and the ID in it looked similar, so I tried to report it to the police to find out. But those damn cops just told me to give up
