Baemin is crashing. Switch to Coupang Eats

FT = ForbiddenTome — tap to see Korean slang explained

Baemin is currently down.
They're not sending delivery drivers at all, and customer service won't pick up for 20-40 minutes. There are plenty of orders that have been waiting over an hour;;;
They won't even process refunds for reorders... but what can they do if customer service won't pick up the phone?
Since they're not answering calls, they literally can't do anything.
People are just getting f***ing destroyed here;;;
But Coupang Eats has delivery that's way faster and doesn't even bother calling customers.
New policy starting today: orders past the 1-hour mark aren't eligible for refunds or reorders anymore.

Baemin's delivery usually sucks but wasn't it supposed to be the top app? Is it really falling apart now?
Baemin put itself up for sale, but they're inflating the asking price by cutting rider pay to keep the profits for themselves. That's why everyone's complaining right now. Coupang is slowly taking over market share. But honestly that's mainly in Seoul and Gyeonggi—in other regions Baemin still dominates by like 2x.
Just thought of something else: at restaurants, delivery orders used to be mostly Baemin, but nowadays it's almost exclusively Coupang Eats.
Baemin screwed up getting drivers twice in a row for me, made me wait over an hour, and I haven't touched that app in months lmaooo
coupang eats has better restaurants anyway tbh, baemin quality went downhill
Yesterday Yogiyo crashed so hard I couldn't even place an order
Yogiyo shut down its own direct app like Baemin Connect and Coupang Eats do. They got rid of that and spread it out to different platforms. Other delivery services handle it now. I forget one of the companies (was it Baro Go? idk) but one of them uses Kakao Picker for Yogiyo orders.
Baemin's real competitor is that useless app. Seriously... ugh... Baemin => cut delivery rates so low drivers are disappearing. Yogiyo => complete chaos, who even knows what they're doing. Danggireyo => can't properly control seller greed. Anything below Weme Pro doesn't even run right.
For real, even if Coupang is being stupid, who cares—the other platforms are straight-up killing themselves with their own hands lmao
Danggireyo and regional delivery apps (like Daegu-ro) don't self-manage. They're outsourced. They literally just slap their name on the app while existing delivery contractors actually run it. So regular riders can't deliver even if they want to—only office-affiliated riders can.
Danggireyo is cheaper overall but people are just mindlessly dragging it down without even actually using it properly, getting off on the hate-train like idiots. Danggireyo and places like Hansot have big price differences from Baemin, and basically most restaurants list different prices on Danggireyo. Some places just copy-paste their old Baemin prices with no thought, but honestly a lot of them do different pricing on Danggireyo or throw in extra drinks or something to make up the difference. But people just blanket complain like there's no difference at all, which is total bullshit. Danggireyo also drops coupons way more aggressively so there's a huge difference from Baemin's basically useless coupons—I use Danggireyo like 60% of the time now.
Danggireyo has the same prices in my area but the delivery fees are all pushed onto customers
Is that why Baemin Club is going free now?
lmao finally switching, baemin's been slow af lately and their delivery fees are insane 💀
Ordered from Baemin last night, was supposed to arrive at 8, didn't get it until after 8:50
lmaoooooo they slashed delivery rates so hard riders are bouncing stupid idiots. The riders just want to earn what they deserve, but the Baemin brass sits around in meetings trying to figure out how to pay them less. They'll never fix it lol. Maybe not right away but if they keep running it like this, it's coming soon.
Baemin is so painfully slow that I use Yogiyo for restaurant orders and Coupang for everything else
Ordered delivery at a baseball stadium a while back, ordered around 5, supposed to arrive when the game started at 6:30, didn't show. Cancelled my Baemin Club membership right then and there
wait is this actually happening rn? i just ordered through baemin 20 mins ago 😭
Was using Baemin, switched back to Coupang, then switched to Naver direct shopping and Baemin/Yogiyo because of Coupang's data leak issues, but honestly as a consumer you should just use what works better. Had a delivery problem and tried to cancel but there's no customer service and they won't respond, so I had to call the restaurant and argue with the owner directly. Nothing showed up after 2 hours, so I searched for customer support and there's nothing, so I called the restaurant and was like isn't 2 hours too long, cancel this order, and the owner kept saying they already sent it out (it said cooking in progress btw). I fought with them for like 50 minutes yelling to f***ing refund me, and they kept stonewalling, then hung up, and suddenly a driver showed up lmaooooooooo. After pulling that crap once, I'm just not using Baemin or Yogiyo anymore.
A couple summers ago was the golden age when they were paying like 15,000 won a delivery at most
Now they tack on an extra 2,000 won surcharge for food over 50 minutes late lmao. Coupang jacked up the base rates and deliveries are crazy fast
Use crypto technology to fix it
Seeing all these companies that used to be big names—Naver, Kakao, Line, Coupang, Baemin—end up like this... you never know what's gonna happen
not me finding out about this from a random post instead of an official announcement 💀
switching doesn't matter when they're all overpriced anyway but go off i guess
THIS is why i stick with multiple apps, never put all your eggs in one basket
coupang eats customer service is actually trash tho... baemin might actually be the better choice 😅
