This scene perfectly explains why they made Season 2
In the 2024 Kim Do-hyeon case, the military's reporting system was so messed up that even when the forestry service's helicopter arrived first, they turned it away. Makes you wonder if the Defense Ministry just sat back and enjoyed watching this drama unfold
Wow
They threatened people with retaliation if they didn't show up
It's an individual's mistake but why are we all taking collective responsibility? Real talk, isn't this whole thing a group of complete morons?
Yeah, because it literally is a group of complete morons
Because that's exactly what it is
Season 2 was basically made just to show this scene. Did this kind of question never come up before? People have been staying quiet out of fear of being called commie traitors if they speak up. The fact that we've finally progressed enough as a country to air this kind of doubt in a drama is huge
Everything else about it was so absurd I thought it was garbage, but this scene actually got me
I was thinking they made a whole Season 2 just for this one scene
It's so frustrating that we can only voice these opinions starting from the 2020s. Why were people staying silent before this? We should've gotten revenge like Mexico did
Before the 2010s, people's voices didn't reach anyone anywayβno smartphones, everything was locked down. Things changed really fast after the 2014 sergeant scandal
okay but the way they're framing accountability in a drama is actually kind of refreshing ngl
Even if we made them honorary national patriots, fired the officials responsible, and gave the families overwhelming apologies and compensation, it still wouldn't be enough
wait hold up, they're making season 2 about THIS? π the drama is about to be INSANE
finally someone said it!! the ministry literally had one job and they fumbled so hard
lmaooo the title is unhinged but also kpdramas really do love their military tragedies don't they
not me getting emotionally invested in a fictional conscript's backstory at 3am rip
