There was a recent article about this—Apple's buying strategy apparently made the memory shortage worse lmao
They tanked chip prices so bad that companies couldn't justify investing in production lol
Apple pulled that crap so suppliers had no extra cash to invest in scaling up + after seeing Apple's scumbag moves, memory companies refused to increase production unless they got upfront payments
