Honestly, like 90% of people who bring cameras ask for your contact info and actually send you the photos after

Meanwhile 90% of phone photographers won't send pics even when you hand them your number and practically beg them to share

And honestly, beyond just getting good photos, the best part of cosplaying is meeting other people who love the same character as you

Even if someone's using a phone, if they ask me to do a pose I'll totally commit...

Especially when real hardcore fans ask you to do something only a true fan would know—like some obscure attack technique combo transformation pose, or acting out Char's famous line while doing the salute—

I get SO hyped and emotionally invested I give it my absolute best

Those little moments of small talk just screaming with someone about how that one scene was the coolest? That's the catharsis

Cosplayers aren't professional models, so without specific direction we only have a couple of basic poses in our repertoire. The people who brought cameras usually have clear requests ready, so it becomes a win-win and we end up doing longer photoshoots. That's all it is.

Like, I never know what poses to do when someone's taking my photo my whole life,

But if a photographer told me to go into that brush over there and aim a gun, or take off my helmet and hold it up, how fun would that be...

This isn't about phone vs camera—it's just about having direction.

lmaooo why is this so accurate tho, the moment someone pulls out a fancy camera at cons everyone becomes a statue 💀

I feel called out rn ngl, but also expensive gear hits different when you're trying to get that perfect shot

This is lowkey creepy vibes? Like maybe people just want nice photos taken of their cosplay without overthinking it

🐺

okay but as someone who shoots at these events, the posing is REAL and honestly it makes my job easier so win-win 😂

not me realizing I've been doing this at every convention... the camera intimidation is real fr fr

🐿️

This title is unhinged but also the photography culture at weeb events IS kinda intense ngl

WAIT so they're saying cosplayers perform differently based on camera price?? That's actually an interesting observation lowkey
