Jung Ju-hee, Reporter

But that's how all civil servants areβtraining trips are basically just paid vacations anyway
There's such a thing as moderation
But you can't just accept it as normal
Then at least don't shirk your dutiesβtaking vacation on election day is too much
That was always the real problem to begin with
The issue is they don't disclose the information lol
If you're gonna say it's just a fun trip, then use your own vacation time and your own moneyβwhy are taxpayer funds being used to send them?
Why waste taxpayer money on this...
Where was this ever okay lol
Where was this ever okay
All the overseas training reports are posted online, so show me where all of them are like this
This is a cover-your-ass move to avoid blame when things go wrong
Seriously this comment got 11 upvotes γ·γ· looks like the Cliense crowd swarmed
Wow honeymoon destination...
lol the comments on this are going to be a warzone, but honestly fair point
Going to the Maldives on a business trip is excessive to say the least
ok but this doesn't address the actual concerns people have??? just feels like dismissing valid criticism
Maldives, the paradise of alternate universe elections
Respect. My mom's friend is an election official and the hate mail she gets is genuinely disturbing. Needed this post.
If they went to India during election season lol
People really do forget these are just regular people doing a job. Props for bringing some humanity back to this.
Looked it up and they went to Europe a lot for these trips
Europe's expensive so they can't afford it with their own money, easy scamming solution
Getting 110% of the ballot paper budget approved, then printing only 50%, and using the extra 60% for these training trips??
Finally someone said it. Election officials work insane hours for basically nothing and everyone blames them when things go wrong π€
In our country they literally need police protection now. This hits different when you see it happen locally.
This is a nice sentiment but I feel like we're missing the bigger systemic issues by focusing on defending individuals π€
