The Legendary Megalia Verification Incident

 

A member of Megalia who was suspected of being a man (someone stirring up inflammatory bait with such extreme blind hatred of men that even other members found it excessive)

 

decided to verify that she was actually female.

 

Megalia had always claimed to be fighting against Korea's lookism and "beauty standards"—what they called the "corset"—that oppress overweight and unattractive women.

 

But when the verification girl's appearance turned out to fall short of their own standards,

 

Megalia didn't rally behind her like they normally did with chunky hand verifications (aka "pig foot pics"), where they'd usually be like "So brave and adorable!"

 

The photos spread like wildfire across other sites (Reddit, etc.) and she got roasted and humiliated.

 

Desperate, the verification girl reached out to Megalia—her own home base—for support.

 

But Megalia suddenly flipped the script and started accusing her of being a man pretending to be one of them, calling her a "pickme."

 

Rejected by the community she trusted, the verification girl desperately provided every proof she could think of, pleading that she was actually female.

 

But Megalia just straight-up decided she was a man and kicked her out for being "bossy" trolling—all because she wasn't pretty and thin enough.

 

These were the same people who had screamed about how men's lookism and beauty standards were oppressing women,

 

who even yelled at video game characters and mannequins to reject beauty standards.

 

But when faced with the risk of being seen as unattractive themselves, they were quick to disown one of their own—a legendary moment of pure hypocrisy.
