Don't turn the election commission's negligence into political maneuvering

What is this?
Are you trying to wither the flower of democracy bloomed in blood?
Elections are the flower of democracy. And in the history of the Republic of Korea, that place grew drinking blood. In 1987, the flower of democracy bloomed on this land, which had been scarred by military dictatorship, on the sacrifices of numerous democratic figures, including the blood of senior Park Jong-chul scattered in the Acropolis. However, some 40 years later, in 2026, the Central Election Commission has the responsibility to protect the democracy we fought hard to achieve and pass it on to future generations, yet shows no awareness whatsoever of the weight of the duty they bear. Have you forgotten that the very election that is proudly called the flower of democracy is a precious value that someone desperately wanted to protect at the cost of coughing up blood? Look at the pathetic behavior of the institution managing elections abandoning elections. On June 3rd, at polling places in Seoul's Jamsil and elsewhere, countless residents were unable to participate in voting due to a shortage of ballots, an absurd situation. Residents who came to cast their precious vote to fulfill their duty as democratic citizens had to wait indefinitely without receiving proper information, and voters who couldn't wait for long periods gave up voting nationwide. The Central Election Commission, which bears the duty to conduct elections without the slightest error through thorough preparation and guarantee voting rights, has instead hindered citizens' voting intention.
On the sacrifices of numerous democratic martyrs, the flower of democracy bloomed on this land, which had been frozen by military dictatorship.
Look at the pathetic behavior of the institution managing elections - the institution managing elections is abandoning elections in a pathetic manner. Look at the complacency and incompetence of the election commission that blocked voters' rights.
The Central Election Commission, which enjoys an independent status as a constitutional body for fair election management, is using that very independence as a shield to hide its incompetence - we cannot help but express deep concern about this attempt.
It must not be used as a tool of political maneuvering, and we do not agree with claims that promote distrust in the democratic electoral system.
However, we want to make this point clear. The current situation where basic rights of representative democracy are being obstructed must never become a subject of political maneuvering, nor should it be used as a tool thereof.
We also do not agree with claims that

I hate people trying to turn Shuka into a political puppet
The election commission definitely deserves to get called out though
Lmao one of our department heads at work mentioned Shuka's political stance and gave someone shit for it π I was curious what he was actually trying to say but held my tongue
okay but did anyone else notice the sign in the background because that's actually wild
It's wild how people can read the exact same post and interpret it in completely opposite ways lol. This whole thread is literally a giant social experiment π
This is just what being truly neutral actually looks like
not sure how I feel about this tbh, feels like everything's political now even celebrities can't stay neutral
Wow so you're supposed to see something and pretend you didn't based on your politics? That's some Tiananmen Square level censorship vibes
Regardless of left or right, the election commission absolutely needs to be called out. The problem is people trying to downplay or privatize it
But then when I criticize the privatization stuff, people say I'm trying to downplay it... what am I supposed to do?
YESSS this is the energy!! college students are the future and it's good to see established people backing them up πͺ
The Supreme Court Chief Justice is right
Left or right?
'Opts out' is short for 'beyond right and wrong' lol the account's shutting down soon
Wait so you're saying the Supreme Court Chief Justice, who's supposed to maintain political neutrality, is a political figure? That's what you're claiming?
That's not your call to make
If the Supreme Court Chief Justice is beyond reproach, what about ministers and vice ministers?
How am I supposed to judge the separation of powers that's literally written in the Constitution, genius
Since when is 'beyond right and wrong' in the Constitution?
It means you're not supposed to bring 'political' topics up, genius. Not that you ignore right and wrong entirely. And the 'judiciary' isn't supposed to be political under the Constitution
How is the Supreme Court Chief Justice beyond reproach when they're not a politician?
The arguments being made are so ridiculous that I actually went and looked up whether the Supreme Court Chief Justice was ever involved in politics lmaooo
Those are definitely beyond reproach
I really feel bad for people like you. Wonder why people like you don't show up on Starbucks posts
That's what happens when people are ignorant thoughβthey're so confident about it. The Supreme Court Chief Justice being a politician lol what a laugh
Ministers are appointed positions so they're actually politicians
Right, ministers are usually appointed from among politicians so that tracks
Vice ministers are beyond reproach but the Supreme Court Chief Justice has never been? They're not even a politician, quit deciding this on your own
Called it lol there it goes π
Obviously the election commission got screwed over
Smart moveβdrawing a line with far-right forces while condemning voting rights violations
Gets me emotional... it's like kids cleaning up the mess that old fossils made
Wow didn't expect Shuka to take a stance like this, respect for speaking up π
lmaooo the election commission must be sweating rn if they're getting called out by celebrities
finally someone with a platform using it for something that matters, this is what we need to see more of
