Post on Women's Forum About Younger Brother Facing Potential Prison Time

So this guy in high school was doing open chatting with some adult woman and they were exchanging explicit photos right? That's what their relationship was like. Then after he turned 18 the woman reported him and now he's being investigated for sexual crimes or whatever. I don't even know, mom won't explain it properly to me... She keeps saying even if they settle he can't avoid prison but I don't get what she's talking about. My brother says the woman sent hers first and asked for his so he sent it and he never harassed her or anything like that. Honestly does that even make sense? They exchanged them mutually so why would only he get punished? He won't tell me something and I'm pretty sure there's something seriously fucked up he's hiding. And he's been squeezing settlement money out of me without explaining anything properly... The settlement money I paid at first was totally made up - he said it was for grandma's surgery fees + nursing care + nursing home costs and used that to extort it from me. I grew up close to my grandma when I was little so I have a strong bond with her, so I was worried and called to check on her and cross-checked the story and yeah the surgery was real and she did have the operation, and I just happened to have to go abroad for 3 months so I couldn't visit her in the hospital. But like... fuck, grandma's in on it too and they're both scamming me

She's never had surgery and goes to aerobics every morning, like seriously fuck.... [손절|cutting losses] and I don't even want to see them for the rest of my life, but it seems like I need to take the money and leave whether it's from mom, my brother, or grandma. When I got off work and went back to question them, in the morning I used a half-day off and went to the aerobics center to tell grandma to speak properly, and I made a fuss, but this person... would I feel at peace only if I died? That asshole, even if she dies, I don't get anything out of it, so why would I feel at peace? Whether my brother goes to prison or gets executed, it's not my problem and frankly, the money spent on the settlement doesn't seem to be it either. Even if she dies soon, it's apparently still the settlement money.
