LINE introduces "Premium Block" and message editing, call recording, and 3 other new features to be provided as LYP Premium perks after fall this year. Published July 2, 2026 at 5:30 PM. LINE Yahoo announced on July 2nd that they're introducing 4 new features to the communication app 'LINE', including the ability to edit sent messages and "Premium Block" which lets you delete yourself from a friend's contact list. Starting in August, the features under development will be available in 'LINE Labs' for testing, and after fall this year they'll be officially released as perks of the monthly service 'LYP Premium'.

I get it that we should maintain good relations with Japan and maybe even integrate into one economic zone like the EU someday, but every time I think about how they straight up stole LINE and crushed Naver, I just get pissed. Naver's founder bled sweat and tears building this, and everything was created on Naver's tech foundation—this massive messenger spanning Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Japan completely robbed us. Messaging platforms have major cultural influence, and no matter how naive Lee Hae-jin's ownership structure was, if it had been Google instead of Naver, or Eric Schmidt instead of Lee Hae-jin, they would've 100% never pulled this betrayal. Seeing Japanese people act like they created LINE themselves and talking nonsense like it's their world just pisses me off
