Lol absolutely
I get it that we should maintain good relations with Japan and maybe even integrate into one economic zone like the EU someday, but every time I think about how they straight up stole LINE and crushed Naver, I just get pissed. Naver's founder bled sweat and tears building this, and everything was created on Naver's tech foundation—this massive messenger spanning Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Japan completely robbed us. Messaging platforms have major cultural influence, and no matter how naive Lee Hae-jin's ownership structure was, if it had been Google instead of Naver, or Eric Schmidt instead of Lee Hae-jin, they would've 100% never pulled this betrayal. Seeing Japanese people act like they created LINE themselves and talking nonsense like it's their world just pisses me off
Thinking about what they did to the Nissan president—that wasn't a betrayal, it was straight-up extortion
China on the left, Japan on the right—both trying to bleed us dry with these bastards. Geographical reality: no eternal enemies, no eternal friends.
LINE was bleeding money forever so they figured it was hopeless lol—but then people bring up Lee Hae-jin being naive??? Seriously, how many major entrepreneurs are actually naive? That's the real question. But setting that aside, LINE was always a money pit and still isn't profitable. So why does patriotism suddenly pop out every time LINE comes up? That's what gets me.
honestly the UI looks way cleaner than before, not even mad about this 😂
If it's a bad direction update, we should still support it
Carlos Ghosn: That's just an uncivilized country
Wake up Japan!
For real lol—putting a feature in a social app that shouldn't exist? It's shady and shows how twisted their social morality is
Ngl it does match Japanese culture perfectly tho lmaooo they're actually pretty clever about it
So that's why you pay for it. Some friends probably desperately need that feature lol
Even the features themselves are shady
Courts are gonna treat LINE messages as having zero evidentiary value from now on
It could be that only premium account holders can't be seen... but once the premium expires they show up again lmao
Just buy the Super Premium to prevent that
What's dangerous about it? You're being over the top. Deleting a feature is the real censorship
wait LINE is Japanese now?? I've been using it for years thinking it was Korean lol
This is wild, another Korean app getting absorbed. At this rate half our tech will be owned by someone else in 5 years
I don't get why people are freaking out, LINE's been under Naver's parent company for ages anyway
the dark mode theme they added actually slaps, Japan knows how to design interfaces fr
rip to all the LINE sticker artists who probably lost revenue in this takeover 💀
