Runners' reputations are just gonna get dragged even more
lol seriously, before they get sued by the city, reported and class-action sued by individuals and lose everything, they should either accept responsibility for the losses and just issue refunds, or bounce ASAP... right? Fraud probably won't stick anyway and they'll probably just act like they did their best and then pocket some cash before closing shop and call it a day
LMAOOO they really thought people would just accept that excuse??? If I paid $200 to run a marathon that got cancelled, I'm getting my money back or we're having words 💀
If you're gonna be this irresponsible about it after scamming people and doing X, then just just give refunds already.
They've been running it since '23 though...
lmao
There's always people who add unnecessary crap and invite criticism. Just looking at this alone proves the organizers are scumbags.
The comments section on this must be absolutely NUCLEAR rn, companies never learn how to respond to these situations without making it worse
Don't know the full story but seeing this, I can tell the organizers messed up
Goddamn it, that's not it lolol
What boomer running club member organized this thing? Just look at how they're responding—acting all high and mighty while hanging around in groups, causing problems, straight up scumbags
This is why you always read the terms and conditions but also... organizers should just give refunds when events get cancelled? That's not controversial
The audacity to tell people 'oh you can run it next year instead' when they already paid for flights and hotels 😭 Absolutely delusional
honestly both sides kinda suck here but also the company did handle their PR response terribly lol
As someone who lost money on a cancelled conference last year, this hits different. Just give people their money back, it's not that hard 🤷
