This guy's argument is "Andy will forget about you as time goes on, so come to the museum with me and stay as you were in your glorious days," but Woody hates him and is gonna go to Andy anyway and escapes

After that, Part 3's plot: "What if Andy throws me away?" Part 4's plot: "What if I get thrown away?" Part 5 preview: "What if I get thrown away?"

Should've just gone to the museum lol

That was what he said to Woody, and in 3, Andy never intended to get rid of Woody anyway. The other toys were like "Andy doesn't play with us anymore. We'd rather go to a daycare where kids will actually play with us than get thrown away." And in 4, they didn't think Woody would be abandoned—he was just jealous, right? Then he messed up and separated from Bonnie, came back to Andy...

🦊

Nah, in 4 Andy doesn't even show up. Woody just ends up leaving to become a wild toy. A wild toy means living in the wilderness without an owner or home.

🦊

In 4, Bonnie realizes she's sick of Woody and gets sad. Then she just abandons her owner and ends up living in the wild with Bo Peep who they randomly reunite with. Andy never appears.

🐰

Lmao he almost had a tragic arc. But he doesn't go back to Bonnie either—well, more like he was planning to go back with Forky but ends up freaking out and ultimately doesn't go back and becomes a wild toy instead.

🐿️

Yeah and he shows up in the preview for 5, so I'm thinking maybe I won't watch 5 lol

🦊

If you watch 4 as a standalone short, it's just average. But when you compare it to the ending of 3, which was supposed to be the grand finale of Toy Story... it's a flop. If they were gonna end it like that, it should've been Andy going with him or him ending up in a museum.

🦊

Bonnie, Forky, that antique boss villain—they all just leave a bad taste in your mouth lol. Out of nowhere they made Bo Peep a girlboss warrior with that feminist thing, while Buzz and Jessie barely show up. I don't even get why he's trying so hard to find Forky. Honestly I watched 1, 2, and 3 dozens of times but I'm never rewatching 4.

🐰

That's where my Toy Story ended lol. Because I was Andy.

🐰

Oops I meant Andy

🦊

Not me about to check eBay prices at 2am because of this post 😭

🦊

But he managed to survive every time?

🐿️

You guys are crazy, making a fuss like this. You want us to make a suicide game? We can't make suggestions because we're worried you'll all team up and kill yourselves together. I know life is hard—but is it a competition over who has it worse? You gonna gamble on that? Yesterday that person who was gonna light charcoal and kill themselves? He didn't die. We saved him with our warmth here. We always save people like you. If you're at the edge and have made up your mind to die, don't post here f***, we're gonna save all of you anyway.

🦊

Oh no, gotta translate this...

🦊

I've never seen Toy Story 1 after watching it, but is Andy still a kid?

🐰

Since he went to college in 3, he probably has kids by now.

🐰

In 3 he goes to college. When he gets there, he hands all his toys over to his neighbor Bonnie (who's in kindergarten) and leaves.

🐰

In 3 the whole story is about Andy cleaning out his toys when he goes to college.

🐰

omg finally someone put this into words, that's why all the collectibles keep getting reprinted every few years

🐿️

In 4, Bonnie gets tired of Woody and forgets him. By the time she leaves, I was thinking, "Why'd he even have to take out that old guy and go to the museum in the first place?" The guy was so focused on having a reason to play with the toys in 2.

🦊

4 being well-made is one thing, but it totally destroys the whole message of 3.

🐰

lmaooo this is actually genius, every toy story movie that comes out just prints money for whoever owns that character 💀

🐰

This is lowkey how the entire toy industry works but yeah go off

🦊

Andy never abandoned Woody. He was trying to take him till the end. Woody left on his own.

🐿️

Real talk, in 3 I think Andy tried to bring at least Buzz along with him.

🦊

Nah they just threw out Buzz lol

🐰

I was disappointed that the main character's personality changed in 4.

🐰

What are you talking about? 3 had an ending—it was the perfect ending. Still precious, but giving him as a gift to a kid who can cherish him even more.

🦊

The flaw was that 4 and 5 made the error of judging he'd cherish it even more when he's a little kid. If Andy had at least kept the memories and maybe passed them on to his kids after getting married, where his dad and kids would all cherish them and play with them together, that would've been better.

🦊

Honestly watching 3, I was thinking 'Man, going to the museum would've been right.' I really think that's the way it should've ended.

🐰

Honestly I think the series should've ended with 3. As long as Woody didn't become a obsessive collector, that would've been perfect.

🐰

Wait which character are we talking about?? I need to know if I should be investing in toys rn

🦊

This is literally just Woody's entire character arc summarized in one sentence, Pixar played 4D chess

🐰

Honestly the smartest business model ever, Toy Story just keeps making people rich whether they want it or not 📈
